Funding

Today, "financing" or "funding" refers to any systematic model for acquiring the necessary funds for specific endeavors. According to this definition, "financing" can apply to both business and governmental as well as private contexts.

In the former two contexts - government and business, macroeconomics and business administration - the classification based on the type and source of funds plays a significant role. Speaking of "financing" makes sense because, in all economic activities, regardless of the acting entity, financial flows (or services measured in money) underpin these activities. They make the value of actions and services comparable and measurable, and describe the origin and use of funds.
